For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

(Todays readings truly brought life to me, Is. 9:1-7; 2 Peter 1:12-21; Luke 22:54-69)

We all have watched the sun break the horizon and realized that in the dark we could deny Him, but in the morning we realized the same “light” that shined into the Galilee of the Gentiles has shone on us.

The same Peter who denied him that night would later write: “And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19).

Peter was confirming that Jesus was not a mere prophecy, but a reality. Thus “the word of the prophets made more certain.”  Often in the face of pubic opinion man denies his need to know this child. And yet in the darkness of our own lives that light has shown and we know that there is only one who is Wonderful, Counsellor, The might God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace!

The Child was born, the prophecy is a reality, we can live in the light of His appearing. He is Wonderful, Counsellor, The might God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
