Yes! Yes, I am one of those people who can move from concern to worry way too quickly. I take on way too much responsibility. This can and has proven to lead me into a very anxious state, emotionally.

Before you start thinking about all the advice that you want to give me, let me say quickly…. I know! I know that worry is not of God and that it is of no value to a believer; that is why what happened a night or two ago is so glorious to me.

I had a dream!

I was walking down this very busy sidewalk, (it reminded me of New York City) it was filled with people who were in a very big hurry. As I looked into their eyes they all looked so weary. So tired and burdened. It was as if they were going to simply fall over from exhaustion.

Every one was carrying these black bags, maybe backpacks, some of them were dragging them along behind them. Then I saw these things, ‘beings of some kind’ that kept dropping more black bundles of stuff right in front of them and the people would stop and pick “it” up and stuff “it” into their already full bags.

Then I realized that just like everyone else I was carrying bags and dragging bags filled with this black stuff that these evil looking things kept putting in front of me, and I would simply pick “it” up and stuff “it” into the bags. I was exhausted, but I couldn’t seem to stop picking this stuff up.

I saw something move, quickly, easily from person to person. A Man, He was illuminating everything, with a smile that was infectious. The closer He came the more my spirit began to lift. Moving through the crowd, He was bringing comfort to every person.

Now looking right at me as if He knew every secret of my soul I realized it was Jesus. Without words, He asked me how I was and I told Him how very tired and weary I was. That smile, that beauty and then He spoke: “My dear friend, I did not give you these weights; you need not carry any of them. They are the devils burdens and they are wearing out your life. Just let go of them; drop them; refuse even touch them and your path will grow easy and you will be carried on eagle’s wings.”

He reached out and touched my face! Rest, rest like I’ve never known filled my being. I fell at His feet with Thanksgiving. And then I woke up!

I spent the last several days processing this dream. I feel both rested and victorious all at the same time! I dove into the Scriptures and found some interesting words; maybe they will encourage you as they have encouraged me.

“So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God.” (Hebrews 4:9 NLT).

“A special rest!” Wow! I know lots of people who are in need of this.  What does “special rest” mean?

“And GOD gave them rest on all sides, as he had also solemnly vowed to their ancestors. Not a single one of their enemies was able to stand up to them—GOD handed over all their enemies to them.” (Joshua 21:44)

Now that is “special rest.” Rest that includes being victorious over all of our enemies. It gets even better.

“Not a single one of all the good promises the LORD had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.” (21:45) Or as The Message Bible says; “Everything came out right.”

Rest that includes the fulfillment of every word that the Lord has spoke to us.

“Everything He spoke came true” “Every thing came out right.”

Now that is “Special Rest.”

“For the LORD delights in his people; he crown (or will beautify) the humble with victory.’ (Psalm 149:4)

Special Rest makes you Beautiful! ….
