“…from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year” Deuteronomy 11:12
I have been meditating on this verse for the last several weeks and have come to realize just how reassuring this entire passage is for us! He cares for his people in whatever setting, surrounding or situation we are in. He cares for our land. He lovingly watches and protects us from the very first day of the year until the last day of the year.
I have come to hold this verse in my heart because I can depend on God for every day and every circumstance. The Lord is telling “us” today just what He told the children of Israel in their day: “He who keeps you neither slumbers or sleeps.” (Ps. 121:4.) Our heavenly father does not take days off, vacations, sick days or leaves of absence. His eyes are ever upon us. He cares for us just as much as He cared for the children of Israel. Our land is in His focus just as much as the land that was promised to the children of Abraham. Our Lord is concerned for our homes, our families, our transportation, our jobs, our churches, and our safty. None of it escapes His sight.
You and I have a tendency to rate certain days above others. We have already circled on our calendars all the special events during the coming year. However, God reassures us that He has circled every day of our lives as special. “….from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.”
