Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 NKJ
Cast means “to throw, hurl, abandon, or toss away as no longer needed or wanted.” Burden is a word used to describe a load of anxiety that weighs a person down. Sustain is a great word, it has to do with upholding, feeding, nourishing, supporting, and taking care of.
So go ahead “throw, hurl, simply toss away every anxiety that weighs you down, for the Lord will uphold, feed, nourish, support and always take care of you.” Go ahead, shift the weight from you to Him. He knows what to do!
Peter quoted this verse saying it like this; “cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you,” (1 Peter 5:7NKJ)
