So by now you’ve open your Christmas gifts, right? Did you receive any thing that you simply don’t know what to do with? It just really doesn’t work for you?

Through out the years we’ve all gotten a few of those gifts. Where’s the receipt? This simply doesn’t fit me! A gift that simply does not  fit who you are; where you are; or what you are doing; and it is so difficult to understand what to do with it. And yet we have closets full of them. (they did not give you the receipt)

The truth is that Gods gifts are like that as well. Gifts that we simply don’t know what to do with; words that simply don’t fit into our world. God always gives gifts that speaks to your future and not your present.

Gods gifts reveal both your identity and your destiny.

Gods gifts speak to who you are going to be; where you are going to go and what you are going to do in your future.

He has given all of us Words that we simply don’t understand and that we really don’t know how to fit into our present reality.

His words “are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh,” (Proverbs 4:22). “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away,” (Matthew 24:35). The gift of God’s word will never wear out, never break down, doesn’t need batteries and does not require assembly.

“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions,” (Psalm 107:20). Our healing and our deliverance are a result of receiving His word into our lives. Isaiah told us “…the words that I speak will not return to me empty. They make  the things happen that I want to happen, and they succeed in doing what I send them to do,” Isaiah 55:11 NCV).

God told Jeremiah that “I’ll make every word I give to you come true,” (Jeremiah 1:12 MSG). Jesus said, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you,” (John 15:7).

Every thing God has or ever will do He does by His word. He created the world with His word and he sent His word to recreate every man who will receive the Christ. Christ told us that if we build our lives on the word of God that our lives will stand the storms of life. He told us that the enemy will try to steal the word from our lives. But if we receive and believe we can ask Him anything.

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them,” (Mark 11:24). If we simply receive His word and “believe that we receive,” we can see His word manifest in our daily lives.

I know it sounds crazy, but so does a “virgin birth.” It is crazy to think that God has given us His Son, the Word made flesh, but it is true.

God will give us a word that points us in a certain direction, but He will intentionally leave out the details. You and I must step out of the boat on the one word that He has given to us. He told Peter to “come,” and Peter could stand on the water.

He told Abraham to get up and go, but He did not give him the details. God’s word doesn’t seem to fit who we are, where we are or what we are currently doing. God’s word calls us out into the future.

Listen we have been living by the world’s system rather than by the “Word’s system.” We must allow the gift of God’s Word set us free from the addictions of the world and begin to live in the identity and the destiny that He has established for us.

I know it doesn’t look like it fits, but it does! Go ahead and receive it into your life! Go ahead believe it and watch what happens!
